Malta's First Memory Walk as part of World Alzheimer's Day Campaign

The Malta Dementia Society organised the first Memory Walk in Malta on Friday 23rd September 2005 and this was a big success! The activity was held at Freedom Square, Valletta on Friday evening from 5 - 7 pm. Society members were able to talk to the public about their experience of dementia and distributed information about the society and about World Alzheimer's Day. The event helped us challenge the stigma that surrounds the disease and raise awareness about the increasing prevalence of the condition and the need to increase supporting services accordingly.
